Burnt Out Wreck – Swallow

(Cherry Red Records – 2017)

CD, Album, Album Review, CD Review, Burnt Out Wreck, Swallow, Gary Moat, Heavy Pettin, Cherry Red Records, AC/DC

The new band from Gary Moat, Drummer of Heavy Pettin' fame that immediately puts me in mind of 80's Saxon meets classic AC/DC with a Broken Teeth/Dangerous Toys kinda vibe to it too.

Their main line-up comprises of Gary Moat (Vocals/Guitar), Adrian Dunn (Guitar/Backing Vocals), Alex Carmichael (Bass/Backing Vocals); Miles Goodman (Guitar) and Paul Gray (Drums) and there are some great numbers on here.

Take for instance, the opening band title 'Burnt Out Wreck'; the humourous 'Pullin It Out' that also concerns stickin' it in – lol; the marvellous riffin' 'Medusa'; the tell it how it is 'She's A Dirty Love' or the beautiful ballad 'Your Love (Is All I Need)'.

A really enjoyable old school Rock album indeed.

8/10
