.Adam Eckersly Band – The Second Album

(S/R – 2016)

Well this one grabs my attention immediately with that piped up organ before the opening song ‘Live On’ bursts in to life coming from this New South Wales outfit who put me in mind of Paul Carrack meets Del Amitri gone Americana.

There are a wide variety of styles on here too – saves ya getting bored right? Only kiddin’ Love the line ‘I lost my tongue in a knife fight, but I still got things to say’ in the ballad ‘Devils Lullaby’; the amazing male/female duet that is ‘Comes A Time’ and the old school country stomp of ‘Mocha’.

Then there’s the gutsy funk blueser ‘Good Night’ or the epic Southern Rock closer ‘Took That Woman’ that reminds me of a famous Marshall Tucker number gone a bit Black Crowes with that Rhodes piano.

Brilliant!

10/10
