Ghosts Of Sunset – Headed West (E.P.)
(Golden Robot Records – 2021)
A band that features John Merchant (Ex-Dutch Henry) from Western Michigan & Todd Long (formerly of The Verve Pipe) who was originally from Michigan and now of Alaska who get 80's Hollywood on us and more during this six track E.P. that concerns the rise and fall of a Rock 'N' Roll Band!
Highlights include the opening 70's Glam like Rocker title track 'Headed West' that you can imagine the likes of The Sweet cranking up back in the day; 70's; the pacey, very Pretty Boy Floyd like 'Another Rock 'N' Roll Show ' with the slamming drums and high Steve Summers like styled vocals; the power ballad 'Never Goodbye' (that's very Def Leppard and the added quality of Whitenake) and closing 'Try It For Love' that puts me in mind of White Lion at their finest crooning moments meets Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band too!
As their bio states, there are quite a few notable guests who play on here that include:Tim Mosher (Junkyard), Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Bruno Ravel (Danger Danger), Adam Hamilton (ex-Tuff/LA Guns), Brian Roth & Patrick Kennison (Lita Ford), Johnny Monaco (Ex Enuff Z’Nuff) and Kent Slucher (Luke Bryan). See if you can spot who many be playing what on this release!
So do we want a full lengther? Yes please!!
