Tyketto/Warrior Soul/Collateral - Corporation, Sheffield, 24th April, 2026
My first time seeing this band, but the crowd really couldn't wait! Their excitement got me interested. The band came on to the stage and the music started. I am stood in the photography pit and I could hear the singing but couldn't see the singer.
The next minute, I nearly got trampled on by Angelo Tristan, the singer! He made his entrance running down the pit, eventually climbing on stage. That really set the tone for their show. Angelo never stopped, he was a perfect showman. The energy and performance from the band was incredible. I can now see why the crowd couldn't wait for them!

I couldn't fault their show, it was a perfect heavy Rock display that left the crowd breathless, baying for more! I became a fan from their full on energetic performance, those that hadn't seen them were also won over by them.
What a great start.

Next came Warrior Soul. I love the difference between the first band and these guys. Their style is less flamboyant than collateral. It was more gritty, with a hard edge.
Punk sounding vocals came from the charismatic singer, Kory Clarke. He has that real New York edge to his performance. Almost strolling through the songs with ease. I love the sound and the showmanship of Kory. It is the polar opposite to the display by Angelo Tristan of Collateral, but just as engaging. I love this, it brings me back to the stuff I listened to in the 90's.

I wanted to be up front jumping around with the crowd. I loved these so much and a few of their songs have made it on to my Spotify playlist. I couldn't fault the first two bands. An incredible start. just what you want from your warm up acts.

I'm not sure how Tyketto can top the first two bands. I will be honest, I got to see Tyketto at Stonedead festival and...they were ok. They didn't blow me away and my review of them stated that. I am not sure if it was the festival vibe or where I was sat but they just didn't do it for me. So, I thought I will give them a second chance. Going into this impartial, but secretly knowing I'm not going to enjoy this.
Chris Childs is the bassist in Tyketto. I had the pleasure of interviewing him a few months ago so go check it out elsewhere on the zine plus I know Ged Rylands too somehow but can't put my finger on it where from at this moment in time.
For the first two songs I was busy with the photos but what immediately struck me was the sound. It was really full on, a total wall of sound. Harry Scott Elliott is exactly how you would picture a Rock Guitarist. He just disappears in a blitz of hair and guitar!

He has all the rock moves but not done in an engineered way. It was like he wrote the book on it to be honest! The look, the sound and all the ooze of charisma that you want from your guitarist. So difficult to photo but a joy to watch.
Danny Vaughn is a striking fellow, tall, slender with silver long hair. A ball of energy running around on the stage, trying to include everyone in the crowd when he looks at them. Leaning forward, moving to a different area on stage and doing the same.
Poor Ged Rylands was almost hidden from view on the Keys. He did on occasion come out on Guitar and he had great energy with Chris Childs. They really bounced off each other and as a spectator it was a joy to watch.

One thing really struck me was how tight they are as a band. You see it a lot in big bands where they play a lot together. The timing, energy and professionalism of the musicians really made the set almost seamless. I say almost, I am a critic, that's what I do and I have to be honest. This is really picky but it did bug me.
There was a gap when Danny tuned his Guitar and you could hear a pin drop. A bass solo or drum solo to fill the void would have covered but nope, silence for only a minute but felt longer. That is a small, really small criticism but it bugged me. Maybe I was looking for a reason not to enjoy this performance?
But....from Johnny Dee's drumming, (which is amazing), Ged Rylands keyboard and guitars, added that wall of sound, Chris Child's excellent bass playing and Harry Scott Elliott's supreme guitar playing. I was finding myself enjoying this, in fact I was smiling. Yes, you read that right, I had a smile on my craggy face!

Danny, what a front man! He commanded that stage. He had everything and what a voice! He can really sing and hold a note. I am pleasantly surprised. What went wrong for me a Stonedead festival, why didn't I feel the performance there like I am with this one? I hold my hands up and I can honestly say this performance was in fact fantastic! High energy, tight and professional.
I now cannot wait to see them again. Not only that I want to encourage readers to go and see them if they haven't already, and if you have then go and see them again!
A great evening with three different but outstanding bands.
