Headcharger – Hexagram

(Verycords – 2017)

Any band who have supported acts as widely across the spectrum as Alice Cooper and Agnostic Front are going to be inevitably hard to predict in manner of style.

French five-piece Headharger have somehow managed to bridge the gap in the abyss between. Nail-in-head twin guitar work and grindy vocals give Headcharger's songs a haughty melodic punk metal base to bounce on and there's plenty amongst 'Coming Back To Life', 'Gutsy Move', 'Name Your Price', 'The One You Want To Be', 'The Metamorphosis' 'Load The Dice' and 'Necronomicon' to bop your fist along to.

Some sweet - and very slightly - borrowed guitar work, not least the ever so slightly Iron Maiden like soloing into 'Dirty Like Your Memories' plus sessions of seasoned treble-step pounding  gives this band's seventh album justification to stop round for a few more yet still. Listening to just one number and you realise how Headcharger been accepted by such a diverse roster with over 400 gigs across Europe to their laurels.

Riveting material.
