Drowning Pool/Spineshank/HeD PE -
KK's Steel Mill, Wolverhampton, Saturday November 15th, 2025
What you want from a support act is something that would fire up the crowd? Get them into an almost frenzied state so they can explode when the main acts come on. HeD PE did that with their Punk infused Hip-Hop metal.
Jahred swaggered around the stage, crowd firmly in his hand as he got the place bouncing. They included old songs and threw in tracks from the new album, 'New And Improved'. The folk in here just started to do some surfing and the set sadly came to an end. A great start.

I never really listened to Spineshank so this gig was an education for me. The atmosphere was instantly electric from the moment Johnny Santos and the band jumped onto the stage, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
The sheer number of crowd surfers and mosh pits throughout the night just proved what a high-octane performance it was. With no new music on the setlist, the night became a "best of" concert, delivering non-stop hits.

From the first note of 'Asthmatic' to the final roar of 'Negative Space', the set was utterly breathless, with Santos himself leaning as far forward as he could to physically engage with the passionate fans.
A nice touch was the inclusion of Guest Singer, James Mills from the band Hostage. He had previously filled in for Johnny when dealing with a passport issue at the beginning of the UK tour and was unable to fly for the initial dates. James stepped in as a temporary fill-in, learning an entire set in less than two days. He really made the most of the opportunity.

This was an exciting heavy set, the crowd absolutely lapped it up. When the set finished most were dripping with sweat. Simply excellent!
We all know Drowning pool. They are one of those bands who have 'That song' that everyone knows and loves. But what about the other songs?
With a start of the legendary KISS song, 'I Was Made For Loving You'. A great way to get the crowd singing. Drowning Pool successfully maintained the blistering energy of the previous acts, showcasing their powerful depth and stage presence. With Soil's Ryan McComb's confidently handling vocal duties, he was definitely made for Drowning Pool's sound.

The setlist was a dynamic powerhouse. Tracks like 'Step Up' and 'Enemy' were delivered with raw force, while the slight reprieve of '37 Stitches' was met with enthusiastic approval rather than a dip in excitement. The band then ratcheted the intensity back up, diving into an unexpected yet brilliant cover of Billy Idol's 'Rebel Yell' followed by heavy hitters like 'Sinner', 'Sermon', 'Pity' and 'Reminded'.
This explosive set provided lots of opportunity for the crowd to head-bang, dive into mosh pits and participate in non-stop crowd surfing before the band slowed the pace slightly for the well-known track, 'Tear Away'. But the moment came at last: "Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor" came the chant. Building up to the classic 2001 smash hit 'Bodies' (which has been re-released).

The crowd gave everything they had. Every word shouted, every beat remembered and they made sure the band didn't forget it. What a tremendous end to a fantastic set.
