Two Reviews of:
We Wept - Gotta Lotta (single)
(S/R - 2025)

(Genre: Grunge/Alt Rock)
Joshua W. Turner is the singer/song writer and producer of Tacoma, Washington based band We Wept. ‘Gotta Lotta’ is the new single release and has sound the reminds me of Marilyn Manson circa Mechanical Animals.
Overall the sound of the band sits in the 90’s grunge/stoner/alt rock sector. Citing bands like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Nirvana as Turner’s influences, offers a good perspective for those who might enjoy ‘Gotta Lotta’ and We Wept.

We Wept are a Rock band from Tacoma, Washington. Not that there is anything important in that. What is important is the sinister tones that are created at the beginning of this song, they develop nicely, with a touch of dark menace. Then the vocal joins in to complete the nightmarish tune.
We Wept state; “The bands hope is to reach the broken, the hurting the lost and forgotten people and give them a voice through our songs. We are here to show that rock is not dead and that the lost and forgotten can join us as we raise our voices in faith, hope and against the darkness that afflicts the world.”
I get it entirely, if they corner 000.1% of their target audience then they will instantly be huge. In that unlikely event you will have to survive on this, which really has ‘Gotta Lotta’ going for it. Think Soundgarden.
The band consists of Joshua W. Turner plus guest musicians. One man can’t do it all if we are to get huge guitar solos and big drums then you need a band. Get out there and tour.
Great single! We could be on the edge of something special perhaps it’s the dawn of a new Nirvana!
