Blank Display – Love, Hate And All Between

(S/R – 2017)

Blank_Display_–_Love,_Hate_And_All_Bet

This is classic 2,3,4 American 90's punk rock meets UK old school styled stuff which puts me in mind of bands like The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Blink 182, Sum 41. Bowling For Soup & Green Day – you get the picture....

For a change they do not come from America but instead from Camden, New South Wales but have the same driving, skate-punkiness about them with full on cuts like the opening 'Shantytown'; 'Radio Tragedy' 'King Of Nowhere Town' or the closing 'So Long, Farewell (See You All In Hell) that all have limitless, blasting energy throughout.

Aside from that there are two amazing ballads in 'Come And Gone' that is both acoustic and orchestral styled and the nicely vocal harmonied 'Rest' with a resonant drum beat strong and lovely piano sounds through too.

A grower of an album filled with kind of stuff I don't usually listen to.

7/10
