Anthony Rosano And The Congueroos – S/T

(S/R – 2018)

CD, Album Review, CD Review, Album, Debut, Mike Zito, Anthony Rosano And The Congueroos, Blues, Norfolk, Virginia, Self Titled, Bluesmen,The Rolling Stones, Gospel, New Orleans, Long Island, Banjo

Blues to the max with these guys with plenty of wailing guitar and harmonica playing via Norfolk, Virginia plus a bit of banjo in there too. They only got together in the Summer of 2012 as well!

They were produced by famed Bluesman Mike Zito at Nola Studios,New Orleans who's really done them proud especially when you are treated with the opening raw and delta-fuelled '28 Days'; the gorgeous biographical electro-acoustic 'Long Island Sound' or defo-toe-tapper, 'Wicked Grin'.

Then there's the darker stonesy saxophone filled 'Love Got A Hold On Me'; the acoustic 'Blackbird' and the closing 'Proud Of My Sins' that even features some gospel singers. One of those acts that you wished were way closer to you.

Outstanding!
