Chez Kane - Reckless

(Frontiers Music SRL - 2026)

(Genre: Rock)

Chez Kane is back with her third studio album ‘Reckless’ via Frontiers Music.

I first became aware of Chez Kane when a friend of mine’s brother became a touring guitarist for her. For some reason I never got around to listening to her previous releases all that much. So ‘Reckless’ is a chance to see what Chez Kane is all about.

Instantly, the album cover demands your attention with Chez Kane looking incredible, presenting herself as a model straight from the 1980’s. The neon colours scream that the 80’s will firmly be drawn on where stylistic inspiration is concerned as her fans will already expect.

The opening track ‘Reckless’ delivers what the album cover alludes to. Delivering an 80’s fuelled, fun rock opener. ‘Personal Rock n Roll’ offers more light-hearted 80’s inspired rock action. The early album form continues with ‘Night of Passion’ and ‘Strip me Down’. The album is brimming with unapologetic 80’s swagger and it is delivered with confidence and charisma.

‘Tough of Love’ is instantly catchy thanks to the bass groove, keyboard work and chorus. Chez blows us away with a ‘Love Tornado’ next, big guitar work and driving drums are at the heart of this track. ‘Bad Girl’ is a slight down step for the album. It still has its moments but feels more throwaway as a song for me. ‘Street Survivor’ suffers the same issues as ‘Bad Girl’. It just doesn’t quite reach the same level of quality as the opening half a dozen songs did.

‘Too Dangerous’ underwhelms a little too, although Chez offers a strong vocal. She has sounded fantastic throughout the album, her voice working perfectly within the 80’s vibe. Closing the album is ‘Bodyrock’ which recaptures the early album form. Providing more catchy rock groove and melody.

At the time of writing, I have been watching ‘Cobra Kai’ on Netflix and can see the main character Johnny Lawrence loving this album! At its peak ’Reckless’ is fun 80’s inspired rock joy that is really hard not to enjoy. It just suffers slightly in the second half from some weaker songs in my humble opinion.

If you love big anthemic 80’s rock designed for a good time, then Chez Kane’s ‘Reckless’ is recommended!
