Chloe Josephine – Re-Bloom (E.P.)

(Mayfield Records – 2025)

(Genre: Blues/Soul)

My knowledge of Chloe Josephine is similar to that of the landscape of Neptune, very limited. Something about it intrigued me so I thought let’s give it a listen. I am very pleased I did. Delicate and beautiful this E.P is a gentle thought-provoking outing, Chole’s voice encapsulating the mood and essence perfectly.

Starting with the soulful ‘Rebloom’ Chole wonders if she is meant to be wild and free. Her vocal range is perfectly enhanced by the funky laid-back rhythm and a tasteful guitars courtesy of Jon Parkins & Jonny Moody.

‘Feels Like Forever’ follows it is a delicious ballad that pulls at the heartstrings as it deals with love that is separated by distance and time spent apart… ‘Recognise’ deals with the boundaries we must set in relationships to protect ourselves and our identities. It has a smooth lightly funky groove that underpins the magic of the message.

Finally, as far as the E.P is concerned we have ‘Liquid Gold’ Chole’s voice serene and light as it drips with feeling that radiates love that lasts a lifetime. My download features an extra track in the shape of ‘Again’ it is a fictional song about grief and love. It resonates will all of us who have experienced the loss of a person we hold deep in our heart.

This E.P is best listened to beneath shimmering stars and a moonlit glow. When the sun has descended over the horizon at the end of a glorious Spring Day. It is melancholic and beautiful. Now I must search YouTube for more music by Chole Josephine.

I have now watched the video of the achingly poignant ‘Once More’ the piano painting the passion of the purity within. ‘Breathe Like Me’ is another discovery and I feel caressed and blessed that I now know the music of this sensational singer.
