Asphalt Horsemen – Brotherhood

(Grund Records – 2016)

Southern Rock four piece from Hungary who formed in 2010 that rip up the sounds of the swamp over in Europe.

They do have a very Chad Kroager sounding vocal style – very throaty and balling which could be a double-edged sword, depending on the popularity of them.

Songwise there’s quite a few highlights in the delta sounding ‘Thank You’; the grinding and sliding ‘Wicked Woman’ with cowbell and blues harp or the stomping ‘Seize The Day’.

Then there’s the ballad ‘December’ or the sat on the porch starting ‘My Old Town’ or the cookin’ cowbelled ‘Connected’. They could do with a nice UK and US Tour to break down the doors down further in the West.

Promising.

8/10
