The Quireboys – 35 & Live

(Off Yer Rocka Recordings – 2020)

The Quireboys - 35 & Live USE.jpg

Captured live at the O2 Forum, Kentish Town, London, by my buddy Andy Gamble and his company this see's The Quireboys plays a cracking set of songs that range from the first album 'A Bit Of What You Fancy' right through to 'Amazing Disgrace' from 2019 – now top that people!

With a line-up that comprises of Spike Grey (Vocals); Paul Guerin & Guy Griffin (Guitars); Gary Ivin (Bass); Keith Weir (Keyboards) and Dave McCluskey (Drums), the lads certainly mean business of all things loud and luscious.

They are in fine form as ever and even Frankie Miller is in the audience tonight – must also be a fan too – little wonder why! Spike wants the women to take him home too – just hope they have a well-stocked fridge though as the legend does like his grog to say the least.

All the party-filled fun-time hits are here that include the opening mainstay 'Hey You' which opens the show with an archived introduction and goes onto include crowd faves like 'There She Goes Again'; 'Sweet Mary Ann'; 'Long Time Comin', '7 O'Clock'; 'Mona Lisa Smiled' Sex Party and lastly but not leastly 'Mayfair'. It's like a live best of because their songs are just so, so good!

The place is packed and the crowd are loving every single second just like the 'boys do every single night they rock every stage. Join them again and again in the comfort of your own living room. Put your hands together for one of the countries finest rock n' roll bands – 35 years on... who'd have thought it... makes you feel old doesn't it? I have to say it's great to see fellow photography friends in the pit too!

The show is intercut Interviews that are conducted by their Manager, Jonni Davis (also M.D. of Hard Rock Hell) and Lyndon Webb of Hard Rock Hell TV which is packed with humour with all members of the band, featuring asking a variety of questions like what advice to give to a young band today? The worst things each other have done? Their favourite songs to play and much more...

It really is one of the coolest concert DVD's I have ever seen with the soundtrack coming as a bonus CD too!

9/10
